Specific to the Capital Markets technology platform, lead a technology team for a single line of business and/or crosscutting function responsible for technology solutions that meet business needs and satisfy risk and operational requirements of the Tech organization. Identify and resolve complex technical, operational, risk management, and organizational challenges by leveraging emerging technologies and automation to improve business efficiencies, enhance speed-to-market of solution delivery, and support business and enterprise transformation and optimization. Has full management responsibilities for teammates: hiring, disciplinary actions, coaching, terminating, performance reviews.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Direct the engineering and deployment of significant delivery projects in accordance with specified technical requirements, schedules, and budgets, including Agile methodologies.
  2. Oversee the planning, design, engineering, testing, and deployment of application projects in conjunction with a variety of resources, which may include Waterfall or Agile approaches.
  3. Develop departmental plans, including business, financial, production, and organizational priorities based on IT and broader business objectives.
  4. Apply an in-depth understanding of systems engineering and administration and a basic understanding of other IT disciplines in guiding and coaching team members.
  5. Identify and resolve complex technical, operational, and organizational problems.
  6. Support the funding of projects, products, services, and technologies to impact results.
  7. Maintain appropriate Risk Profile through owning the first line of Risk defense, proactively identifying risks, and implementing necessary mitigations. Partner effectively with 2nd line of defense, auditors, and regulators to ensure risks are identified and mitigated appropriately.
  8. Play a lead role or serve as a technical consultant in large or complex projects or initiatives.
  9. Manage team responsibilities: hiring, disciplinary actions, coaching, terminating, and performance reviews.
QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

  1. Equivalent education and experience, including 20+ years in Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB), 10+ years executing a Technology Strategy for a CIB Line of Business, 10+ years in Executive stakeholder management, 10+ years leading large-scale, cross-functional, global teams, and 10+ years managing vendor platforms.
  2. Expert knowledge in at least three functional areas such as Markets Expertise, Financial Products, Quantitative Modeling and Valuation, Risk Management, Regulatory Compliance, or Electronic Trading.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Understanding of multiple approaches to Software Engineering.
  2. Full understanding of Agile methodology.
  3. Experience leading teams in an Agile environment, especially those practicing DevSecOps or transitioning from Waterfall to Agile.
