Job summary

Citigroup Inc. in New York seeks a Relationship Associate to support Institutional Banking by assisting clients with capital market transactions and strategic advisory services for mergers and acquisitions.

You will be an intermediary in trading and help formulate investment strategies to raise capital for clients. This intermediate role requires 5–8 years of experience and a Bachelor’s in Finance or related field, with strong analytical, communication and relationship-building skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or closely related area of Business Administration.
• Credit skills/experience (e.g., financial accounting, commercial lending theories) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with internal and external audiences for timely problem resolution and service support.
• Perform financial and operational investigations across credit, FX, cash management and trade services.
• Assist Banker with relationship reviews and client portfolios.
• Partner with Product Partners and Relationship Managers for KYC origination, monitoring, renewals and completion.
• Facilitate credit originations, credit allocation, approvals, documentation, bookings, fee collections and renewals for Standby Letters of Credit.
• Identify revenue opportunities, position products with clients and monitor billing and CIS mappings to reflect revenues.
• Represent banking coverage team in client meetings.
• Assist with Banker activities in absence of Banker, including closing transactions.
• Assess risk and ensure compliance with laws and Citi policies.
