Job summary

Geronimo Power is seeking a Capital Markets Intern in Bloomington, MN for Summer 2027 to support financing and strategic transactions for utility-scale renewable energy projects. You will work with a cross‑functional team on debt financings, tax equity, asset monetizations, and capital formation activities.

You will gain hands-on experience, develop technical and analytical skills, and present accomplishments to leadership at the internship's end.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to learn quickly.

Responsibilities

• Support financial modeling and analysis for financing and strategic transactions.
• Assist with sensitivities, scenario analyses, and other analytical outputs.
• Support diligence requests from lenders, investors, consultants, and advisors.
• Organize data rooms, transaction materials, and supporting documentation.
• Track transaction deliverables and coordinate information requests across stakeholders.
• Prepare management presentations, investment materials, and memoranda.
• Research financing alternatives, market activity, and renewable energy trends.
• Collaborate with Development, Asset Management, Accounting, Legal, and Leadership teams.
• Support projects that improve capital planning and reporting processes.

About This Role

Geronimo Power's Capital Markets team is seeking a Capital Markets Intern for Summer 2027. This internship provides hands‑on experience supporting financing and strategic transactions involving utility‑scale renewable energy and energy storage projects. The Capital Markets team sits at the intersection of finance, strategy, and execution and is responsible for raising and deploying capital to support renewable energy projects across the United States. Interns will gain exposure to debt financings, tax equity transactions, asset monetizations, and other capital formation activities while working alongside experienced finance and investment professionals. This role will provide meaningful project work that contributes directly to active transactions and strategic initiatives. The intern will collaborate with teams across the organization, develop technical and analytical skills, and gain firsthand insight into how renewable energy projects progress from development through financing and operations. Interns will have the opportunity to present their accomplishments and experiences to company leadership at the conclusion of the internship.

Responsibilities

• Support financial modeling and analysis for financing and strategic transactions.
• Assist with preparation of sensitivities, scenario analyses, and other analytical outputs.
• Support lender, investor, consultant, and advisor diligence requests.
• Assist in organizing data rooms, transaction materials, and supporting documentation.
• Help track transaction deliverables and coordinate information requests across internal and external stakeholders.
• Support preparation of management presentations, investment materials, and approval memoranda.
• Perform research and analysis related to financing alternatives, market activity, and renewable energy industry trends.
• Collaborate with Development, Asset Management, Accounting, Legal, and Executive Leadership teams on transaction-related initiatives.
• Support strategic projects that improve capital planning, transaction execution, and reporting processes.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong preference for rising seniors graduating within one year of the internship.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high‑quality work.
• Self‑motivated, intellectually curious, and eager to learn.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated interest in renewable energy, project finance, investment banking, private equity, infrastructure finance, or capital markets.
• Prior coursework or internship experience in financial modeling, corporate finance, valuation, accounting, or economics.
• Experience analyzing financial statements and developing quantitative models.
• Interest in pursuing a full‑time career in renewable energy finance following graduation.
• Experience working in team‑oriented environments through internships, student organizations, athletics, or leadership activities.
• Strong preference for candidates local to Minnesota or willing to relocate to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area for the duration of the internship.
