Job summary

Argo Group is seeking a Capital Analyst to support regulatory (BSCR) and credit-rating agency capital models from its 100% in-office environment. The role requires collaboration with Capital Management, ERM, Finance, and cross-functional teams across multiple offices in Omaha, Albany, NY, New York, NY, and Chicago, IL to drive solvency insights and capital decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, actuarial science, or related discipline required.
• 2–4 years of relevant experience in insurance, financial analysis, capital modeling, or risk management.
• Exposure to regulatory capital frameworks (BSCR / Solvency II or similar) preferred.
• Experience supporting credit rating agency models (S&P, AM Best, Fitch) preferred.
• Progress toward actuarial or accounting qualifications is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret financial and capital model outputs and communicate insights.
• Effective stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a structured environment.
• Proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools; modeling tools is a plus.
• Collaborative mindset with cross-functional work ability.

Responsibilities

• Support Bermuda Solvency filings (Argo Group and Argo Re) ensuring accuracy and timelines.
• Own components of the BSCR process including data prep, validation, and documentation.
• Assist Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA) filings (e.g., GSSA) to articulate solvency position.
• Support capital models for rating agencies (S&P, AM Best, Fitch) coordinating data requests.
• Analyze outputs and identify drivers of change across capital metrics.
• Analyze capital model outputs to support solvency position and risk tolerance.
• Prepare reports and materials for senior management.
• Collaborate with Risk, Finance, Actuarial, and Ceded Reinsurance to gather inputs.
• Communicate capital insights to internal stakeholders and respond to queries.
• Support ad hoc capital scenario analysis for Board and management.
• Maintain knowledge of BSCR and rating model components and processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve data quality and processes.
