Position Description

Analyze user requirements, operational documents, and high-level architectures to develop system requirements specifications. Lead design and development activities, guide users, conduct feasibility studies, and provide technical leadership for integration of requirements and technology. Develop technical documentation, system architecture and design documents, and guide implementation planning. Interact with government stakeholders and ensure technical integrity of deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

• Cloud Architecture/Cloud Engineer/Platform Engineering (especially AWS)
• AI/ML system design and implementation
• High-level understanding of the AI lifecycle (development, training, inference, monitoring)
• Experience with ML pipeline development, model deployment, and DevOps/MLOps
• Experience with Amazon SageMaker is a plus
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with diverse stakeholder groups
• System security and networking, particularly implementation of system security on classified systems
• Data engineering and data lifecycle management

Education and Experience Requirements

• A High School Diploma or GED plus twelve (12) years of general systems engineering experience.
• OR A Bachelor’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or related discipline plus seven (7) years of systems engineering experience.
• OR A Master’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or related discipline plus five (5) years of experience.
• OR A PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field or related discipline plus three (3) years of experience.

Salary

Proposed salary range in Maryland: $135,000 to $175,000. Final salary determined based on experience and qualifications.
