Job summary

The Fairness Project in Warren, MI seeks field organizers to recruit, train, and manage paid canvassers and phone bankers, and to coach them to represent campaigns to voters.

Responsibilities include day-to-day field office operations, leadership development, meeting recruitment and contact goals, outreach to groups, representation at meetings, progress reporting, payroll monitoring, and dialer support.

Qualifications

  • A working car / drivers license.
  • Ability to relocate to Macomb County or nearby area (will provide housing and travel expenses).
  • At least one full cycle of field experience.
  • Strong commitment to politics, ideals and enthusiasm for elections
  • Great time management and organization skills.
  • Experience using voter files.
  • Experience using predictive dialers.
  • Discipline and a solutions-oriented attitude toward tasks.
  • Ability to train paid canvassers and volunteers.
  • Excellent listening skills, ability to speak and write effectively and professionally.
  • Strong organizational, management, and interpersonal skills.

  • Meeting voter contact and canvasser recruitment goals.
  • Conducting outreach to constituency groups and allied organizations.
  • Representing the campaign at community meetings and events.
  • Providing accurate and consistent reports of progress to goal.
  • Monitoring and reporting canvasser payroll in the field.
  • Cutting turf and providing administrative support on a dialer.

Job description
