Job summary

The Archdiocese of St. Louis seeks a Staff Vocalist to join the parish’s Traditional Choir, providing skilled vocal support and leadership for Masses and liturgical celebrations.

Collaborate with the Director of Music, clergy, and parish staff to support reverent, musically excellent worship. Responsibilities include singing assigned parts, attending weekend Masses and rehearsals, preparing music, and ensuring proper vocal blend, diction, and interpretation within Catholic liturgy.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated vocal and choral experience required.
• Ability to read music and learn assigned vocal parts.
• Strong vocal technique, pitch accuracy, rhythm, and ensemble skills.
• Experience with traditional choral or sacred music preferred.
• Experience singing in a Catholic church choir or similar organization preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sing assigned vocal parts accurately during Masses and liturgical celebrations.
• Attend weekend Masses, rehearsals, Holy Days, and other services as assigned.
• Perform sacred music appropriate to Catholic liturgy with proper vocal blend.
• Provide strong, clear vocal support for choir and congregation.
• Serve as cantor or soloist when assigned.
• Maintain reverent presence during liturgical celebrations.
