Job summary

Canton Public Schools seeks substitute teachers and paraprofessionals to support learning across classrooms. You will step in for teachers following lesson plans, teach a variety of topics, and help maintain a positive, engaging environment for students.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and being at least 23 years old with valid fingerprints. PERS retirees may be eligible, and Kelly Education connects you with flexible opportunities across the district.

Qualifications

• Must have at least a High School Diploma/GED.
• At least 23 years of age or older.
• Valid Fingerprints.

Responsibilities

• Assume duties of the classroom teacher in accordance with school district lesson plans, school rules, and Kelly policies.
• Lead instruction in the classroom by conducting the teacher’s existing lesson plans.
• Instruct students on a variety of classroom topics/courses.
• Build positive relationships with students.
• Assign reasonable tasks and homework.
• Motivate students to learn and encourage classroom participation.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning for the maturity and interests of students.
• Adapt to the various learning styles of students.
• For long-term assignments, develop lesson plans and create, administer, and grade tests and assignments.
