Job summary

Integrated Services for Behavioral Health in Ohio is seeking a CANS Assessment Associate to conduct comprehensive evaluations for children, adolescents, and transitional-age youth across virtual, home, school, and community settings.

You will coordinate with families, providers, and community partners, document findings in the EHR and CANS portal, ensure HIPAA compliance, and support timely access to coordinated care; travel within designated areas is required.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in community mental health, child welfare, or related human services.
• Current Ohio CANS certification or ability to certify within the first 21 days of employment.
• Advanced communication and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of Medicaid regulations and compliance requirements.
• Access to reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive CANS assessments for children, adolescents, and transitional-age youth in virtual, home, school, and community settings.
• Collaborate with families, providers and community partners to translate assessment findings and next steps.
• Maintain accurate, timely records in the EHR and CANS portal according to requirements.
• Build collaborative relationships with referral systems and collateral agents involved in CANS/OhioRISE care.
• Utilize databases and EHR systems for client documentation and ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Travel within designated service areas; perform all other duties as assigned.
