Job summary

Fortress Nutrition is seeking a reliable Liquid Batcher / Canning Line Operator to support batching and step in on the canning line as needed. This dual-role position offers a unique weekend schedule with Friday–Sunday shifts and a 3-day work week paid as 40 hours.

The role emphasizes quality, safety, and efficiency in high-volume production, with opportunities to contribute across batching and canning operations. Training and overtime may be required to meet production needs.

Responsibilities

• Review batch tickets and gather ingredients for batching.
• Pre-weigh, measure, and mix ingredients per batch tickets.
• Load ingredients into tanks and ensure proper blending.
• Perform basic quality checks on tanks and monitor pH.
• Report any quality, safety, or process deviations immediately.
• Maintain cleanliness and food-safety standards in batching areas.
• Set up, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain canning line equipment.
• Monitor production quality and efficiency; address downtime.
• Address equipment issues promptly and assist team as needed.
• Follow safety procedures, GMPs, and sanitation standards.
• Maintain organized work areas and be available for overtime.

Fortress Nutrition is growing-and we're looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Liquid Batcher / Canning Line Operator to join our Beverage Operations team. This is a dual-role position, where you will primarily support batching operations and step in on the canning line when batching is complete.

This role is ideal for someone who is looking for a second job to earn more income, shows up consistently, and wants to be part of a team that produces high-quality products at scale.

Schedule: Weekend Shift

• Friday - Sunday: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM
• 3-day work week (36 hours worked, paid for 40 hours!)
• Training will need to occur during the week, but there is flexibility for you to determine what training hours work best for your schedule

What You'll Do

Batching Responsibilities

• Review the MMRs (batch ticket) and obtain necessary ingredients from coolers, warehouse, etc. to prepare for the batching process
• Pre-weigh, measure, and mix raw ingredients following MMRs (batch tickets)
• Load ingredients into tanks and ensure proper blending to meet specifications, including consistencies
• Perform basic quality checks of mixing and syrup tanks, including pulling water samples and monitoring pH levels
• Report any quality, safety, or process deviations immediately
• Maintain good housekeeping and high levels of cleanliness and food safety/sanitation standards in the batching areas at all times

Canning Line Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain canning line equipment (filler, seamer, packaging, etc.)
• Monitor production to ensure efficiency, quality, and minimal downtime
• Act quickly to identify and address equipment issues or slowdowns
• Support overall production needs and assist team members as needed
• Follow all safety procedures, GMPs, and sanitation standards
• Maintain clean and organized work areas
• Support operations through overtime as needed

• Perform all other duties as assigned

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2+ years of experience in batching, mixing, or similar roles (liquid batching preferred)
• Basic math and conversion skills (e.g., kilos to pounds, gallons to pounds)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes exactly in order
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
• Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
• Must be able to work and stay on task under minimal supervision
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Ability to work overtime, flexible hours, and be on-call as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in food, beverage, bottling, canning, high-speed packaging, or other regulated manufacturing environments
• Knowledge of GMPs, food safety, and quality standards
• Previous machine operating experience

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 12 hours per shift)
• Frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50lbs on a frequent basis
• Bending, kneeling, climbing (on ladders/mezzanines up to 20 feet high), and reaching as needed
• Use of hands to handle tools, materials, and equipment
• Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle and operate tools and equipment

Pay & Benefits

• Pay Range: $23.00 - $25.00+ per hour (based on experience, with higher rates offered based on experience and qualifications)
• Weekend Shift Premium +$1.00
