We have an exciting opportunity for a Cannabis Retail Store Manager to join us on our journey to transform our bold ambitions for the Missouri cannabis market into a reality.

Our Cannabis Retail Store Manager will work out of our new Proper Cannabis location inSt. Peter's, MO. Full-time employees will receive medical/dental/vision benefits, a generous employee discount, paid parental leave, 401K options, paid time off, and a competitive salary.

Responsibilities:

Dispensary Operations Management:

  • Ensuring compliance with dispensary best practices, policies, and procedures.

  • Oversee daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, security, and inventory accuracy.
  • Collaborate with the Regional General Manager to establish and achieve financial and operational goals.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot all POS, inventory, and security systems to ensure seamless operation.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, local vendors, and product developments to maintain a competitive edge.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Facilitate regular team meetings and daily HIT (High-Impact Touchbase sessions to align on goals and updates.
  • Schedule and allocate staff effectively to optimize operational efficiency and compliance.

Customer Experience and Relations:

  • Deliver a superior customer experience by ensuring the safety, satisfaction, and education of every visitor.
  • Train staff on best practices for product recommendations, upselling, and customer engagement.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of products and industry trends to educate staff and customers.

Financial/Inventory Oversight and Reporting:

  • Monitor and report on sales metrics, compliance, and inventory levels to ensure operational excellence.
  • Implement and oversee inventory control processes, including regular audits and reconciliations.
  • Ensure the dispensary remains compliant with all regulations and lead the team through state inspections without violation.

Qualifications:

The following education, skills, and experience are required for this role:

  • 5+ years of management experience in retail, hospitality, or healthcare environments.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and drive operational success in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with POS systems, cash management, and compliance protocols.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of cannabis products, administration methods, and industry regulations.
  • Must be 21 years or older and possess or obtain a valid state cannabis agent ID.
  • High school diploma or GED.

The following education, skills, and experience are preferred for this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field;

  • 2+ years of cannabis retail experience.

  • Familiarity with local and state cannabis laws.

Environment:

This position requires the ability to reach, bend, stoop, sit, and stand, and carry and lift up to 30lbs for extended periods. The work environment is an environmentally controlled retail store. This position may require travel up to 10% of the time.
