Job summary

Machota Solutions is seeking a General Manager for a Lansing-area cannabis retail location. This hands-on leader will develop and coach the store team, drive a strong sales and service culture, and ensure strict compliance and inventory controls.

You will oversee daily operations, scheduling, and performance, while staying on top of product knowledge, promotions, and customer experience in a fast-paced environment. Must be 21+ with METRC experience.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of retail management experience.
• Cannabis retail experience strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of METRC and Michigan cannabis compliance is desirable.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop teams.
• Strong understanding of sales, customer service, inventory, and retail operations.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on, fast-paced environment experience.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, develop, and motivate the retail team to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
• Oversee daily store operations, scheduling, staffing, and performance management.
• Build a proactive sales culture focused on customer engagement and product knowledge.
• Coach team members on selling skills and provide real-time feedback.
• Maintain knowledge of cannabis products, industry trends, and competition.
• Ensure compliance with Michigan cannabis regulations, METRC requirements, security procedures, and inventory controls.
• Partner with inventory and purchasing teams to manage product levels, promotions, and merchandising.
• Monitor sales trends, customer needs, store performance, and opportunities for improvement.
• Maintain high standards for store appearance, merchandising, organization, and customer experience.
• Step into different areas of operation when needed.
