Position Summary/Objective:

The Post-Harvest Technician assists managers in the day-to-day functions of the packaging, trimming, and harvesting areas, as well as storing finished product. The role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and being a collaborative team player.

As an integral part of the post-harvest team, technicians report environmental and product conditions to help guide the success of each production cycle. Attention to detail in trimming, weighing, packing, handling of plants, and waste disposal is crucial. They also participate in quality control to ensure product standards are met, maintaining a sanitary and organized inventory, and accurately labeling and segregating strains and batches.

We seek a passionate, driven, detail-oriented, and collaborative individual to support our post-harvest activities. Prior cannabis cultivation experience is not required. The role reports to the Cultivation Manager.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct environmental checks and ongoing observation
  • Harvesting activities
  • Utilize checklists, logs, process flow charts, and SOPs
  • Clean and sanitize work areas
  • Monitor environment in cure areas
  • Protect finished products from waste or loss
  • Trim and sort usable product into batches
  • Package product and trim
  • Maintain accurate inventory control
  • Keep work and break areas clean and organized
  • Ensure work uniforms are clean
  • Communicate effectively with team members and other departments
  • Update personal and employment information as required
Qualifications:

Required Experience, Education, and Skills:

  • Minimum of one year cannabis industry experience preferred
  • Certification(s) in agricultural, horticultural, or botanical practices
  • Experience with inventory software, Excel, and Google Sheets
  • Education in agriculture, horticulture, or botany preferred but not required
Other Requirements:
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Compliance with all legal and company regulations
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays
  • Ability to perform activities for up to 8 hours
  • Extended sitting, walking, bending, reaching
  • Ability to lift up to 55 pounds
  • Pass background checks as required by MA law

This position is non-exempt and eligible for overtime. Ethos Cannabis offers a technician tiering program for career development and advancement.
