Smithers Cannabis Testing Services division in Wareham, MA is seeking a full-time Associate Microbiologist to support cannabis testing operations, including sample intake, preparation, and microbial analyses, while ensuring compliance with state regulations and SOPs.

The role includes an initial two-week training period (Mon-Fri). After training, the regular schedule runs Tuesday through Saturday to provide microbiology support, with opportunities to cross-train for extraction tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline preferred.
• Experience in a laboratory environment preferred.
• Cannabis industry or regulated industry experience is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and basic data entry.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and SOPs accurately.

Responsibilities

• Receive and log incoming samples with accurate labeling.
• Prepare samples for analysis following SOPs and safety protocols.
• Conduct microbiological analysis of cannabis products.
• Maintain chain-of-custody and sample-tracking records.
• Assist with data entry and basic calculations for analyses.
• Cross-train on analytical assays as workload dictates.
