Smithers Cannabis Testing Services in Wareham, MA is hiring an Associate Microbiologist to support cannabis testing operations. The role follows a training period of about two weeks with Mon-Fri hours, then shifts to Tue–Sat to provide ongoing microbiology support.

The position involves sample intake, preparation, and microbiological analysis, with cross-training for future chemical analysis. A bachelor’s degree in a science field is preferred and lab experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline preferred.
• Experience in a laboratory environment is preferred.
• Cannabis industry or regulated industry experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Receive and log incoming samples, verifying documentation and labeling accuracy.
• Prepare samples for analysis following SOPs and safety protocols.
• Conduct microbiological analysis of cannabis flower, concentrate and infused products.
• Maintain accurate chain-of-custody and sample tracking records.
• Follow all applicable state regulations and laboratory SOPs.
