Job summary

Ascend Wellness Holdings (AWH) seeks a Security Agent to safeguard patients, customers, employees, and facilities while enforcing all security protocols. On-site personnel will protect assets and ensure regulatory compliance within the cannabis environment.

You will monitor security systems, participate in drills, investigate incidents, and ensure safe handling and movement of products within the facility. This full-time Illinois role offers a competitive hourly wage and a schedule starting 6:00

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must obtain and maintain a state Registered Agent Card or equivalent state credentials.
• Must comply with all legal or company cannabis regulations.
• Must successfully complete pre-employment screenings and background checks.
• Demonstrated understanding of cannabis industry packaging, labeling, and product safety regulations.
• Demonstrated self-defense, de-escalation, and conflict resolution skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of personnel and protection of company assets and products.
• Monitor security systems to ensure serviceability and operability daily.
• Assist with monthly equipment checks of security equipment and systems.
• Coordinate or participate in fire drills, evacuations and life safety drills.
• Assist with implementation of security policy, procedure, and protocols.
• Investigate suspicious activity and document clearly and methodically.
• Coordinate safe and compliant movement of product and assets within the facility.
