Job summary

SEA, Ltd. is hiring for our Candle Testing Lab in Columbus, OH. This temporary-to-permanent role is full-time, four days per week, ten hours per day, with pay at $19 per hour. Hours are Sunday through Wednesday, 4:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., in-lab and not remote.

Ideal candidates enjoy standing for shifts, handle strong fragrances, and have basic Excel/Access skills. The position includes lab duties, documentation, and routine housekeeping while ensuring safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma and ability to work in a lab.
• Experience with Excel and Access is preferred for data tracking.
• Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• In-lab role with fragrance exposure and non-remote work arrangement.

Responsibilities

• Un-boxes, weighs and logs product test samples as they arrive.
• Performs sample setup in testing lab.
• Tests, observes and documents test samples per protocols.
• Maintains lab cleanliness and safety (remove wax, clean filters, replace burn surfaces).
• Analyzes soot targets and conducts flash-point testing.
• Photographs and catalogs test samples; disposes of test samples properly.

Job description

SEA, Ltd. is hiring for our Candle Testing Lab! This is a temporary to permanent role with full-time hours (4 days per week, 10 hours per day). The ideal candidates for these roles will enjoy working on their feet and will understand that this is a high fragrance environment. Pay is $19/hr.

Please note that the hours for this opportunity are as follows:

Sunday- Wednesday: 4:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

• Un-boxes, weighs and logs of product test samples as they arrive
• Performs sample setup in testing lab
• Tests, observes and documents test samples in accordance with required protocols
• Performs general housekeeping in the lab (cleaning wax off testing shelves and floor, cleaning HVAC filters, replacement of burn surfaces)
• Analyzes soot collection targets
• Conducts flash-point testing
• Photographs test samples
• Catalogs, stores and disposes of test samples

Position Requirements

• Strong organizational, observation, written and verbal communication, and multi-tasking skills
• Basic knowledge of Excel and Access
• High school diploma
• This will be an in-laboratory opportunity (not remote)**
• MUST be able to handle strong and continuous fragrances*

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Ability to climb a ladder
• Ability to stand for 4+ hours per day
• Ability to handle exposure to high fragrance odors
