Job summary

Baptist Health System is offering a training position in Cancer Information Management. The role supports follow‑up, casefinding, suspense, and abstracting with a track to CTR certification.

Enrollees will pursue a Cancer Information Management program and aim to obtain CTR credentials within 18 months of hire. The program emphasizes ICD‑O coding, FORDS, Collaborative Staging, AJCC Staging, and reporting to Texas Cancer Registry and national databases, with targets and conference coordination

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Allied Health with enrollment in an NCRA Cancer Information Management accredited program
• Graduate from an accredited Health Information Management program (preferred)
• 1 year in Cancer Registry, Health Information Management or related field (minimum)
• 2 years of cancer registry experience (preferred)
• Must obtain CTR certification within 18 months of hire or transfer
• RHIT or RHIA (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordination of cancer conferences and case management.
• Complete competencies for the position within the introductory period.
• Develop competency in ICD-O coding, FORDS, staging rules and reporting standards.
