Job description

Additional Information About the Role

Siteman Cancer Center and BJC HealthCare are seeking our next Cancer Registrar to join a high-performing team of more than 20 ODS-C professionals responsible for the collection and management of over 18,000 reportable cancer cases annually across a large, multi-hospital healthcare system.

As the only National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in Missouri, and one of the nation's leading oncology programs, Siteman provides the opportunity to work with a diverse and complex cancer population, cutting-edge treatments, and robust research initiatives.

Our team plays a critical role in supporting Barnes-Jewish Hospital's Commission on Cancer (CoC) accreditation, quality improvement efforts, regulatory compliance, clinical research, and cancer surveillance. Team members work with Epic and NeuralFrame/KACI.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented oncology data specialist who thrives in a fast-paced environment, values data quality and continuous learning, and is motivated by the impact cancer registry data have on patient care, research, and outcomes.

Overview

Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. Barnes-Jewish Hospital's staff is composed of full-time academic faculty and community physicians of Washington University School of Medicine, supported by a house staff of residents, interns, fellows and other medical professionals. Recognizing its excellence in nursing care, Barnes-Jewish Hospital was the first adult hospital in Missouri to be certified as a Magnet Hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Our Oncology Data Services team is a remote, multi-state team of ODS-C team members committed to informing the best patient care through high quality cancer data. Our team reviews all patients that are treated and/or diagnosed with a malignancy at BJC HealthCare and Siteman Cancer Center to determine their eligibility for inclusion into the cancer registry database as well as their reportability to the Missouri & Illinois Cancer Registries. Additionally, our data supports the research engine of Siteman Cancer Center, an NCI designated comprehensive cancer center.
