Job summary

The Cancer Programs Engagement Coordinator at SPIPA leads all committee meetings, workgroups, and activities to implement cancer plan strategies funded by CDC and private grants. Position is on-site at the Intertribal Planning Center in Shelton, WA.

You will engage new stakeholders, strengthen existing partnerships, develop educational materials with coalition members, coordinate trainings and conferences, and report grant accomplishments to staff, Tribes and funders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Human Services, Social Sciences or related field with three years of relevant experience.
• Or an Associate’s degree with five years of related work experience; or an equivalent combination.
• Experience in data collection, management, and database development.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Access, Excel, Publisher) required.
• Ability to work cross-culturally with Native American communities.

Responsibilities

• Convene Bi-Monthly Advisory Committee meetings and form work groups for deliverable-based activity implementation.
• Assist participating Tribes in developing cancer plans and educational materials.
• Develop education materials with coalition members, partners and CDC-funded programs as well as chronic disease prevention programs to present a clear vision of cancer prevention goals.
• Coordinate technical assistance for the program’s Advisory Committees.
• Coordinate and facilitate meetings, trainings, intertribal communications, and conferences with stakeholders and Tribal partners.
• Communicate projected budget needs with the Program Coordinator for grant deliverables and SPIPA policies.
• Perform committee quality improvement reviews and report results to stakeholders and funders.
• Collaborate to develop and maintain reports and dissemination products for staff, Tribes and partners.
• Provide written and oral presentations of grant accomplishments when requested.
