Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school and currently licensed in California
• Recent acute care experience and/or medical office/clinic nursing experience
• Current BLS certification
• Completion of crisis prevention training

Responsibilities

• Assist provider with direct patient care and establish priorities in delivery of patient care
• Administer medications and perform limited waived laboratory tests and document according to guidelines
• Complete safety/orientation skills checklist within 8 hours of first day of work
• Gathers data relevant to patient’s needs and age group and records vital signs, weight, medication profile, and allergies
• Implements the plan of care as developed by the provider and documents nursing care in the chart
• Provide patient/family education and discharge instructions and reports changes in status to the provider
• Adheres to hospital policies and maintains a safe patient environment
