Job summary

UMC Health System in Lubbock, TX seeks an Assistant Director of the Cancer Center to oversee ambulatory oncology operations and nursing staff. The role focuses on managing daily clinic/infusion units, ensuring patient care delivery, and coordinating with leadership to improve efficiency and outcomes.

The ideal candidate holds an accredited nursing degree, Texas RN license, and MSN, with at least 3 years of professional nursing and 2 years in a leadership role.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Valid Texas RN License/Eligible Compact License.
• Must maintain a current BLS certification from American Heart Association.
• 3 years of professional nursing experience; +2 years of experience in assigned clinical area.
• Previous leadership experience preferred.
• MSN Required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise ambulatory oncology clinic and infusion units and daily nursing operations.
• Coordinate patient care across inpatient, ambulatory, and external facilities.
• Lead recruitment, orientation, coaching, evaluation, and staff development.
• Collaborate with Cancer Center Director of Operations and Leadership team to improve nurse retention and productivity.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, patient satisfaction, and high-quality, cost-effective care.
