Shift: Flexible 1st shift 7 am to 5 pm

Job Summary:

The Cancer Center Financial Navigator is a key member of the Cancer Center Financial Services team, responsible for managing a large patient caseload. The role involves providing financial guidance and assistance to new patients throughout their treatment journey, acting as educators, advocates, and liaisons to ensure optimal financial outcomes for patients and the institution. Responsibilities include understanding patients' insurance coverage, assisting with insurance procurement, collaborating with pharmacy and radiology resources, navigating insurance marketplaces, and supporting disability and financial aid processes.

Experience:
  • Two years of experience in a healthcare setting is required.
  • Experience in patient navigation, case management, managed care, or health insurance is preferred.
  • Exemplary customer service skills are preferred.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Business, Finance, Psychology, or Nursing required.
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Business, or Nursing preferred.
Skills:
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Knowledge of health insurance guidelines, programs, and plans.
  • Familiarity with patient assistance and co-pay programs, Medicare, Medicaid, COBRA, and ability to identify new support programs.
Compensation & Benefits:

Hourly pay ranges from $23.20 to $34.34, based on experience. Benefits include paid time off, career development opportunities, partnership with the Medical College of Wisconsin, referral bonuses, retirement plans, comprehensive health insurance, employee assistance programs, and various work-life benefits.
