Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System Pharmacy Technician I - Cancer Care is based at the Liberty campus. This full-time, day-shift role offers limited weekend coverage and provides essential support to the Cancer Care team.

Technicians perform sterile compounding in state-of-the-art clean rooms, stock supplies, calibrate equipment, and document orders in EPIC. Training is provided to ensure safety and accuracy in preparing complex chemotherapy medications.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required.
• CPhT certification required by first board renewal (Kansas/Missouri).
• Pharmacy Technician Registration with State Board required for work state.

Responsibilities

• Prepares basic sterile compounds with accuracy after competency.
• Distributes medications and stocks items for ADS machines; maintains records.
• Restocks pharmacy inventory and maintains appropriate inventory records.
• Operates pharmacy computer systems and completes daily tasks.
• Ensures compliance with department and hospital policies; completes required documentation.
• Provides courteous, professional service to patients, caregivers and staff.
• Practices medication safety and reports discrepancies to pharmacists or leaders.
• Performs duties as assigned in a dynamic Cancer Care setting.
