At FMP Canada, part of the global IRIS Software Group, we support organizations across North America with one of their most important responsibilities: paying their people accurately, on time, and in full compliance with Canadian payroll rules.
The very first experience our clients have of us comes from Implementation - and that’s where you’ll play a vital role.
As a Payroll Implementation Advisor, you’ll guide new Canadian clients through the process of setting up their payroll with FMP Canada. You’ll collect and validate client data, configure payroll systems, and support clients as they test and run their first payrolls. You’ll also provide training and advice, making sure they feel confident and supported from the start.
This role is all about delivery: ensuring payrolls are set up correctly, keeping things compliant across multiple provinces, and giving clients a smooth transition into our ongoing service.
This role can be based anywhere in the US, with a planned start date of November 2025, but you’ll need to work Eastern Time hours to stay aligned with Canadian clients and colleagues.
Why This Role Matters
- First impressions count – You’ll be one of the first people new clients meet, and your work sets the tone for their long-term experience.
- Payroll made simple – Your knowledge ensures clients’ payrolls are set up correctly and run smoothly from the start.
- Practical impact – Your work helps businesses avoid mistakes and ensures employees are paid accurately.
- Growth opportunity – As part of IRIS, a global payroll and HR leader, you’ll have the chance to keep developing your skills and career.
About the Team You'll Join
Our Implementation Team sits at the heart of FMP Canada. We’re the bridge between sales and operations. We set up payrolls, validate client data, and make sure every new client is confident before handing them over to our Operations colleagues. You’ll work with people who value accuracy, teamwork, and client care just as much as you do.
What You'll Be Doing
- Act as the main contact for new Canadian clients during the onboarding process.
- Collect, review, and input company and employee data into payroll systems.
- Configure payrolls so they are compliant with federal and provincial rules.
- Support clients through testing and their first live payroll runs.
- Provide guidance and basic training on payroll processes and reporting.
- Flag any issues and work with colleagues to resolve them quickly.
- Assist with year-end activities (T4s, RL-1s, ROEs) and contribute to process improvements.
What We’re Looking For
This role is suited to someone who already has Canadian payroll experience and is ready to build on it.
- Hands-on experience working with Canadian payrolls, ideally across multiple provinces.
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification (or currently working towards it).
- Knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, compliance, and tax rules.
- Confidence handling payroll data and year-end reporting tasks (T4s, RL-1s, ROEs).
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Clear communication skills and a helpful, client-focused approach.
- Ability to stay accurate under pressure and adapt to new situations.
What You’ll Gain
- Real impact – Help clients feel confident and supported during their very first payroll with FMP Canada.
- Professional development – Build towards becoming a payroll subject matter expert, with opportunities to progress within IRIS.
- Experience that counts – Gain valuable exposure to multi-province payroll and client-facing work.
- Supportive colleagues – Be part of an Implementation team that values accuracy, teamwork, and client care.
- Competitive salary and benefits – Be recognised for the important contribution you make.
