Job summary

Walmart Canada is seeking an associate to support Food and Consumables leadership, respond to problems, and help develop associates through teaching and training. The role ensures high levels of customer service while completing tasks on the floor.

You will plan and execute department activities, assist on the sales floor, direct daily tasks, and communicate clearly with the team during shifts to drive productivity and safe store operations. Minimum wage starts at 20.85 CAD per hour.

Responsibilities

• Providing excellent Customer Service by greeting customers, assisting and guiding purchases, resolving issues, and referring concerns as needed.
• Directing and coordinating daily tasks based on priorities from leadership and delegating team responsibilities.
• Maintaining store presentation, merchandising, and cleanliness; communicating updates and goals to the team.
• Overseeing staff scheduling, coverage, and training opportunities; supporting recruiting and onboarding.
• Ensuring safety and compliance with company policies; completing required safety logs and task checks.
• Completing GTA/Workday tasks and supporting management.

Position Summary...Assists in the leadership of the Food and Consumable areas and department processes, respond to problems and inquiries and develop associates through teaching and training. Ensure a high level of customer service while ensuring task completion.

Plans and executes department activities based on workload and operational functions and assists on the salesfloor as required.

What You'll Do...

• Providing excellent Customer Service by greeting all customers in a polite and friendly manner, assisting customers by promoting products/services, locating merchandise and making purchase decisions, resolving customer issues and referring concerns where appropriate.
• Assists in providing direction and the co-ordination of task completion as per communicated priorities from the Food & Consumables Coach and the Store Management Team. Delegate, assist and follow-up on completion of daily Customer Availability process tasks.
• Assesses the overall presentation of Food & Consumables Departments and appearance, noting deficiencies for corrective action and executing merchandising display changes where required.
• Ensure strong communication with associates, leads the daily Team Huddle at the start of each shift, and provide the team with updates, set goals, and track productivity.
• Review completed schedules with People Lead.
• Assign Associates to support coverage and availability tasks in all areas of the store.
• Tours assigned areas with the Coach and team associates to validate and identify training opportunities. Develops associates through teaching and training and provides feedback as needed.
• Contributes to a safe, clean and hazard free work environment through adherence to Company policy and procedures, including the completion of safety sweep logs and ensuring displays and fixtures are secure and free of debris.
• Complete GTA/Workday tasks and supports Management
• Partner with Coach/People Lead to facilitate performance management and growth conversations for Associates. Supports recruiting and hiring new associates.

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts from $20.85.
