Job summary

HES Facilities Management is seeking a Trash and Grounds Technician to support campus waste collection, disposal, and grounds-cleaning services across residence halls and campus properties. You will help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming campus environment through timely waste removal and litter control.

The role requires physical labor and the ability to work independently in varying weather conditions. Training on safety procedures and company policies will be provided.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and walking for extended periods.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Basic knowledge of safe waste-handling practices preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect and remove trash from residence halls, dormitory buildings, and designated campus facilities.
• Service and empty outdoor trash receptacles and waste collection stations.
• Transport collected waste and operate approved equipment to dispose of trash into designated compactors.
• Maintain cleanliness around dumpsters, compactors, and waste storage areas.
• Monitor waste collection areas and report damaged receptacles, safety concerns, or maintenance issues.
• Assist with special cleanup projects and campus-wide waste management initiatives as assigned.
• Follow all safety procedures, environmental regulations, and company policies related to waste handling and equipment operation.
