Job summary

Boise State University’s Department of Public Safety seeks a licensed driver for transporting personnel and materials with vehicles over 8000 pounds GVW. The role includes maintaining vehicle records, safety inspections and occasional supervision of student drivers.

Primary shift is Monday–Friday, 1 pm–9 pm, with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities to grow within a supportive campus safety team.

Qualifications

• Good knowledge of Idaho traffic safety laws and safe driving practices.
• Experience operating commercial vehicles over 8000 pounds gross vehicle weight.
• Ability to obtain/hold a valid CDL within 6 months.
• Physical ability to lift and carry objects weighing approximately 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Operate commercial-type vehicles; transport passengers or deliver products to designated sites.
• Perform preventive maintenance; maintain vehicle records; observe safety indicators.
• Move/load materials up to 250 pounds; plan routes and schedules for transit.
• Oversee activities of part-time assistants or volunteers; train new drivers.
