Job summary

OSU Stillwater is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to develop and maintain campus chilled water, hot water, and steam system models, while managing utility design projects and reviewing outside drawings for OSU specifications.

The role also involves creating OSU design guidelines for utility systems and offering technical direction to engineers. Occasional travel to job sites and a strong focus on safety are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (degree conferred on or before start date).
• Engineer-in-training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification required at hire; PE preferred for senior levels.
• Be able to obtain Oklahoma PE license within one year of hire.
• Strong written and oral communication; data entry and software skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain OSU Stillwater campus chilled water, hot water, and steam system models.
• Be a project manager and perform design work on campus utility systems; review drawings for OSU compliance.
• Develop OSU design guidelines for chilled water, hot water, and steam systems; provide guidance to engineers.
• Coordinate with engineers and outside contractors; periodic travel to job sites as needed.
• Maintain safety standards and work in both office and field environments.
