Job summary

Jobtailor in Atlanta, GA is seeking an entry-level cybersecurity-operations professional to support security monitoring, threat detection, and incident handling under senior engineers' guidance.

You will collaborate with software teams to integrate security into the SDLC, assist with documentation and remediation tracking, and gain hands-on experience with AI-enabled security tools and cloud security practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Engineering, or another technical field before start date.
  • Foundational understanding of cybersecurity, information security, application security, network security, cloud security, or technology risk concepts.
  • Foundational knowledge of network protocols, security fundamentals, IAM, data privacy, data protection, or secure software development concepts.
  • Interest in scripting or automation using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar technologies.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, analytical thinking, discretion, attention to detail, and learning agility for teamwork.
  • Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States is required; visa sponsorship will not be pursued.
  • Preferred: graduation between Dec 2026 and Jun 2027.
  • Preferred: coursework/projects/internships in cybersecurity or related fields.
  • Preferred: awareness of security standards, regulatory compliance, data privacy, security governance, risk management.
  • Preferred: familiarity with security monitoring, threat detection, vulnerability management, incident response, endpoint protection, IAM concepts.

  • Support security control implementation and monitoring for cloud-based or enterprise technology services.
  • Apply structured prompt design techniques when using AI agent-enabled security tools.
  • Collaborate across cybersecurity, engineering, product, risk, operations, and business teams to strengthen secure technology delivery and reduce enterprise risk.
