Description

The Division for Land-Grant Engagement at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for Campus Service Worker.

About the Opportunity

This position, located at Jackson's Mill in Weston WV, will clean, and maintain buildings, grounds, and facilities (includingoffices, classrooms, private and dormitory housing, meeting rooms, public areas, and walkways) adhering to establishedprocedures, all safety regulations, and proper disinfecting techniques to ensure a safe and pleasant environment.

What you'll do:

  • Cleaning and sanitizing high contact areas, guest rooms, and cottages.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing washrooms and fixtures and ensuring they are stocked with needed supplies.
  • Washing and cleaning walls, ceilings, doors, windows, radiators, and ventilators.
  • Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors.
  • Cleaning up spills with appropriate equipment.
  • Use disinfectants, germicidal detergents, and other stringent cleaning solutions following established safety procedures.
  • Distribute, return, and count dirty linens for cottages.
  • Remove, wash, and hang curtains and draperies.
  • Put soiled linens out for pick up and/or wash and dry them in commercial machines.
  • Empty and clean waste receptacles
  • Transport trash and waste to disposal area.
  • Sweep and remove water and debris from sidewalk, steps, and entryways.
  • Notify supervisor of equipment and facilities needing repair or replacement.
  • Perform light maintenance work such as replacing accessible light bulbs, changing filters, using plunger to unstop drains, sinks and toilets.
  • Ensures guests have a positive experience at WVU Jackson’s Mill.
  • Makes wise use of time and materials ensuring timely completion of tasks and utilization of materials.
  • Attends required training.
  • Attends required staff meetings.
  • By example promotes cooperation and teamwork across all WVU Jackson’s Mill departments.
  • Other duties as may be assigned to support the efficient operation of WVU Jackson’s Mill.

Pay Grade: 7

Work Hours: 8:00am - 4:00pm

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • A minimum of six (6) months of experience involving general housekeeping
  • Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.
