Job summary

Brenau University is seeking a Security Officer to join our full-time staff at the Gainesville, GA campus. The role involves patrolling campus areas, enforcing campus regulations, directing traffic, and responding to incidents to ensure the safety of students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities include working with local law enforcement as needed, supporting special events, and performing related duties such as information provision and record-keeping.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years in Law Enforcement or Security experience preferred.
• Post-Certified highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Patrolling the campus by foot, golf cart, or patrol unit.
• Ensure safety of students, faculty, staff, and visitors, monitor area with security equipment.
• Respond to incidents and coordinate with police or authorities when needed.
• Enforce campus rules including parking, smoking, and alcohol/drug use.
• Direct traffic and parking as required.
• Provide crowd control or security services for special events.
• Serve as liaison between the university and local law enforcement.
• Perform custodial, maintenance duties, provide information, and maintain records.
