Job summary

Wilberforce University seeks a Security Officer in the Campus Police department to provide a safe environment for the university community. Under the direction of the Police Chief or OIC, you will patrol and enforce campus rules and respond to incidents.

Responsibilities include access control at entrances, investigations, and coordination with local authorities. Strong communication, confidentiality, and initiative are essential to protect staff and students on campus.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent; five years’ law enforcement experience or three years related experience with an associate's degree.
• Proficiency with PC, printer, copier, fax, and calculator.

Responsibilities

• Enforce university rules and regulations at entrances.
• Respond to calls and complete investigations with incident reports.
• Perform aggressive foot and vehicle patrols and monitor activity.
• Challenge suspicious persons and notify staff.
• Appear in court as needed.
• Support parking rule enforcement.
• Conduct security checks during events.
