Job summary

Ysleta Independent School District is seeking a diligent Security Officer to patrol campuses, observe traffic, and address incidents in coordination with district policies. You will be responsible for maintaining safety, reporting irregularities, and acting quickly during emergencies.

The position requires a High School diploma or GED, a Level II Basic Security Officer Training certificate, 21 years of age, and a valid Texas/New Mexico driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Level II Basic Security Officer Training certificate required.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Able to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Valid Texas/New Mexico driver’s license required; subject to district drug/alcohol policy.

Responsibilities

• Patrol campus areas and observe traffic; address incidents.
• Take action to resolve non-compliant situations per district policy.
• Remain alert to accidents, vandalism, fire, theft, and safety hazards.
• Know location and use of emergency equipment on each site.
• Ensure area is cleared of unauthorized personnel and follow DPS rules.
• Document and maintain a written activity log of incidents.
• Report unusual conditions or malfunctions to supervisor.
• Be able to work extra duty hours with short notice.
• Attend work site as required to meet essential functions.
