Job summary

Navajo Technical University is seeking a Security Officer to patrol university grounds, respond to incidents, and support safety operations on campus. Qualifications

• Experience working on a college campus or academic setting.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Law Enforcement or Security experience recommended.
• Must hold New Mexico or Arizona Level I Security Guard Certification.

Responsibilities

• Respond to alarms and disturbances, detain unauthorized individuals when needed and notify local law enforcement.
• Lead in emergency situations and assist fire/police departments until help arrives.
• Inspect grounds and facilities with safety officers to maintain a safe environment.
• Direct traffic and manage pedestrian safety on campus.
• Uphold NTU and Navajo Nation rules, including loitering, drugs, and contraband control.
• Prepare incident reports and preserve evidence as required by authorities.
