Job summary

Saint Leo University on campus is seeking University Safety student workers to support the Department of University Safety. You will assist officers, staff, and visitors, perform patrols, and help with safety-related tasks while maintaining a professional and respectful environment.

The role emphasizes integrity, confidentiality, and strong customer service, with GPA requirements and adherence to university policies as part of ongoing employment.

Qualifications

• Must be an ethical person with strong values of integrity and confidentiality.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Maintain a semester cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Assist a University Safety Officer in non-violent or non-confrontational circumstances.
• Assist university staff, students, and visitors as needed or requested.
• Complete door unlocks and perform ADA escorts.
• Conduct foot patrols of campus.
• Observe Florida State Statutes and University Regulations and report observations to a University Safety Officer.
• Assist with events such as Fall Family Festival, Spring Fling, sporting events, celebrations, and Commencement.
• Aid with dispatching duties (answering phones and operating the radio).
• Other duties as assigned.
