Job summary

Vail School District in Tucson, AZ is seeking an part-time School Monitor to assist with supervision of students during recess, lunch, and other breaks. The role requires regular attendance and the ability to maintain a safe, orderly environment on campus.

The position involves monitoring in cafeterias, classrooms, hallways, and bus areas, assisting with campus activities, and reporting safety concerns to certified personnel. Prior related experience is helpful but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor students in the cafeteria during meals, maintaining a safe and controlled environment.
• Monitor students on the campus during recess, break periods, and in hallways during class changes.
• Monitor students awaiting school bus transportation.
• Assist in monitoring campus ingress to ensure visitors have valid purposes.
• Censor unsafe activities and refer students to certified personnel when needed.
• Assist in facilitating campus activities.
• Report unsafe practices and equipment to supervisory personnel.
• Assist injured students by notifying supervisory staff.
• Perform related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
