Job summary

Qualifications

• 15 years of law enforcement experience.
• 3 years in a supervisory role with command experience.
• Certified courses in Law Enforcement management, leadership and operations.
• Valid state driver’s license and FOID Card (Illinois residents).
• Illinois police officer state certification or ability to update/renew.
• Honesty, integrity, emotional stability and good judgment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Computer skills and Microsoft Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily patrol operations and supervise officers.
• Enforce applicable federal, state, local laws and college rules.
• Direct, oversee and coordinate daily activities of the Campus Safety department.
• Protect college personnel, students and guests and college property.
• Ensure a safe working and academic atmosphere free of hazards.
• Develop and implement goals, policies, and safety protocols.
• Review investigations and supervise reporting for accuracy.
• Maintain departmental records and protocol integrity.
• Act as ambassador of Morton College at events.
