Job summary

The position requires strong knowledge of access control, emergency preparedness, and reporting. Evening or weekend shifts may be required, with a focus on collaborative safety across departments.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of security operations, emergency response, and incident management.
• Ability to collaborate with various departments and external security personnel.
• Familiarity with access control, fire alarm systems, and emergency preparedness protocols.
• Proficient in security software for monitoring and reporting.
• Experience with QR code scanning and digital reporting tools.
• Familiarity with campus parking enforcement and access control protocols.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to work independently.
• Ability to manage multiple complex assignments and maintain records.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and the public.

Responsibilities

• Report irregularities, emergencies, or suspicious activity to the Coordinator of Emergency Management-Safety and Security.
• Conduct monthly audits of emergency alert devices including AED and stop the bleed kits.
• Establish door locking/unlocking schedules each semester.
• Attend event walkthroughs and provide security-related information.
• Plan and follow up on security plans for events; oversee execution on event days.
• Assist in parking enforcement appeal process and vendor check-in/check-out.
• Record data on incidents, property damage, and equipment malfunctions.
• Monitor surveillance systems for crime detection and incident response.
• Maintain and troubleshoot security cameras and surveillance systems.
• Prepare end-of-year reports on law enforcement training attendance and related data.
• Drive college vehicles when required and ensure badges/permits are managed.
• Collaborate with administrators to foster a safe campus environment and positive relations.
