Job summary

Forsyth Tech is seeking a Campus Police Officer to provide safety for students, staff and faculty on the Main Campus and to enforce campus rules and applicable laws. The role includes varied shifts and a salary range based on experience and credentials.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, successful law enforcement experience, BLET, and CPR/First Aid certification. Background checks are required, with familiarity of state/local laws preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Successful law enforcement experience.
• BLET certification.
• Willing to work day, evening, or third shift as needed.
• CPR and first aid certification.
• Pass a thorough background investigation (F-3 and F-8).
• Knowledge of general statutes and local/state laws (preferred).
• Experience on a college/university campus (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of general law enforcement and college procedures.
• Prevent, detect, and deter crime on Forsyth Tech campuses.
• Enforce state laws and local ordinances.
• Respond to calls for service and make arrests if needed.
• Investigate crimes and coordinate investigations on campus.
• Collect and secure evidence and make crime prevention recommendations.
• Serve warrants and other criminal papers.
• Ensure safety of buildings and parking areas.

Education

High school diploma or GED

Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) certification

CPR and first aid certification
