Job summary

Clover Park Technical College is seeking a Security Officer to patrol campus buildings and grounds, enforce parking rules, and respond to security incidents. You will unlock and secure entrances, assist staff with access after hours, and coordinate with law enforcement when necessary.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, First Aid/CPR, a valid WA driver’s license, and a minimum year of security experience. Associate’s degree and military experience are pluses.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• A minimum of one year of recent full-time experience in security, military or an equivalent position.
• Current First Aid/CPR certification prior to starting employment.
• Valid Washington State Driver’s License or Military Driver’s License.
• Motor vehicle insurance and safe driving record.
• Must fluently speak, read, and write English.
• An Associate’s degree in criminal justice or related field is preferred.
• Five years of current full-time security experience in a higher education setting.
• Military experience is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Patrol campus buildings, parking lots, and grounds by foot or vehicle.
• Unlock entrances before hours and secure them after business.
• Respond to staff and faculty requests for building access and escort after hours.
• Provide information regarding policy violations and issue parking tickets.
• Assist stranded motorists on campus and coordinate with law enforcement when needed.
• Carry a radio and cell phone for communication.
• Respond to security panel alarms, fire panels, and elevator emergency phones.
• Ensure the safety of staff, faculty, students, and visitors.
