Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience with security operations and safety protocols is preferred.
• Ability to conduct interior and exterior patrols and respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Implements safety and security policies and procedures.
• Conducts patrols of interior, exterior, and surrounding property areas.
• Responds appropriately to protect the facility, collections, staff, and visitors.
• Prepares incident reports.
• Monitors systems and identifies potential problems or threats to the collections, equipment, buildings, staff, and visitors.
• Works with fire marshals, law enforcement, and contracted services as needed.
• Coordinates security issues with study site security personnel.
• Responsible for accompanying research participants between study site and FIU on a daily basis to ensure participants stay within assigned areas and act in orderly manner.
• Accesses research database, REDCap, to obtain participant information and visit information in order to check participants in for their research study appointments.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
