Job summary

Mississippi State University Police Department is seeking a non-sworn, uniformed officer to protect campus safety. The role involves foot and vehicle patrols, securing buildings, opening rooms, and providing safety escorts.

You will also respond to alarms, write incident reports, and assist with crowd control during events. The ideal candidate holds a High School diploma or equivalent and has about two years of security-related experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs foot and vehicle patrols of campus areas to monitor behavior, buildings, and property.
• Physically secure buildings as scheduled and open/secure rooms as needed.
• Provide safety escorts and assist with crowd control during events.
• Maintain radio communications and respond to alarm activations.
• Write and submit incident reports to supervision.
• Potentially train officers and direct traffic when required.
• Operate under stressful conditions and deescalate incidents.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
