Job summary

Eastern New Mexico University – Roswell is seeking a Security Officer to patrol campus, protect students and staff, and respond to emergencies. The role involves monitoring facilities, reporting incidents, and coordinating with local law enforcement and fire/rescue services as needed.

The position requires security-related experience, a valid NM driver’s license, and LIC/Certification compliance. Training and potential shift work, including weekends and holidays, are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of security or public safety experience preferred.
• Valid New Mexico driver’s license required.
• Must obtain New Mexico Security Guard Level III License/Certification within 6 months of hire date.
• Annual training to maintain Level III certification required.

Responsibilities

• Patrol campus on foot and assist students, faculty and staff.
• Monitor parking areas and enforce regulations as needed.
• Lock and unlock facilities and grant access as required.
• Complete incident reports for the Director of Security.
• Identify safety or maintenance issues and report them.
