Job summary

Barton Community College is seeking applications for the replacement position of Campus Safety Officer. This role provides security services, including maintaining the security of all buildings and property of the College, as well as patrolling residence halls.

Required qualifications include a high school education or equivalent, good physical condition, independence in judgment, ability to work nights/weekends, and a valid Kansas driver’s license with strong written and verbal communication.

Qualifications

• Requires high school education or equivalent.
• Must be in good physical condition.
• Ability to use independent judgment.
• Works night and weekend shifts.
• Must have a valid Kansas driver's license, good written and verbal communication skills, and ability to fill out investigative reports/daily logs.
• Position is armed; must be legally able to carry a firearm and will pass a background check and a psychological evaluation.
• Preferred: associates degree; knowledge of state and federal statutes, criminal justice procedures and policies.
