Qualifications

• 2+ years of security or related experience.
• Must pass a thorough background investigation including criminal history.
• Psychological screening and physical agility skills assessment required.
• High school education required; Ohio Security Officer Certification or cadet in an academy; two-year degree preferred in Law Enforcement/Criminal Justice.
• Valid Ohio operator's license with no significant violations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mobile and walking patrols on assigned shift and respond to emergencies.
• Enforce university rules and laws; perform security checks of facilities.
• Submit comprehensive incident reports as assigned.
• Provide public safety and emergency services; support events requiring security coverage.
• Interact professionally with faculty, staff, students, and the community to foster relationships.
• Observe and report criminal activity and safety issues; monitor campus areas.
• Direct traffic and enforce parking regulations.
• Assist with training of new officers and serve as a driver for Safe Ride when required.
