Job summary

Lynn University is seeking a Campus Safety Officer to support student success by upholding campus policies and safety standards. You will respond to emergencies, conduct investigations, and coordinate with campus partners to maintain a secure environment.

Your role includes door and access control, patrol duties at events, and timely incident reporting. A high school diploma and ability to drive are required; CPR/AED certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong writing and editing skills for descriptive incident reports.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining quality and safety.
• Experience with incident investigations and interviews.
• Knowledge of campus safety operations and policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide relief duties at gatehouse or dispatch.
• Respond to campus emergencies, crimes, fires, and medical incidents.
• Collaborate with Student Affairs, Campus Safety, and university community.
• Investigate and prepare incident reports with accuracy and ethics.
• Monitor and enforce campus parking programs.
• Open/close buildings as required.
• Assist with patrolling events and monitor areas for suspicious activity.
• Respond with professional conduct and fair judgments.
• Protect campus and coordinate with local law enforcement.
• Operate access control systems and CCTV on campus.
• Serve as first responder during emergencies, including hurricanes.
• Adhere to shifts; Sunday-Wednesday 6AM-6PM with possible weekends/overnights.
