Job summary

Arcadia University is seeking Public Safety Officers for part-time weekend on-call shifts to help protect the university community. Officers conduct patrols, respond to emergencies, and support events with a security presence on campus.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, two years of related experience, and CPR/First Aid certification or the ability to obtain it. The role requires flexible availability including evenings and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must be able to patrol campus on foot and buildings and grounds on a schedule.
• Ability to operate a vehicle and bicycle as needed for patrols.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexible for evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
• CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-visibility patrols of interior and exterior University properties.
• Provide security presence and unlock/secure buildings per schedule.
• Respond to emergencies and report incidents with detailed notes.
• Monitor access and enforce parking regulations across campus lots.
• Give directions, escorts, and support during events and emergencies.
• Serve as information resource for students and staff.
