Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Audits campus safety areas including biological, chemical, general lab, hazardous waste, laser, radiation, shop, and X-ray safety.
• Maintains safety program records and documents findings in audit reports and databases.
• Evaluates work areas to implement safety controls and improve practices.
• Implements safety programs in specialized areas such as bloodborne pathogens or radiation dosimetry.
• Develops and delivers safety training to faculty, staff, and students.
• Manages chemical inventory records for labs and shops.
• Assists in campus hazardous waste management and regulatory documentation.
• Maintains knowledge of federal/state/local regulations and ensures compliance.
• Responds to incidents and emergencies, including spills, with documentation.
• Performs other duties as assigned; department accepts education in lieu of experience.
