Job summary

Manhattanville University is seeking a Dispatch Officer for Campus Safety. The role is stationed at the Main Campus Safety Headquarters and involves engaging with the University community to maintain a safe, welcoming environment.

The Dispatch Officer dispatches emergency services, monitors security systems, and serves as a first responder per university guidelines. Requires NYS Security License, valid driver’s license, and CPR/First Aid training, with at least two years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current valid NYS security license.
• Clean valid driver’s license is required.
• CPR and First Aid training required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Teams.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch Shift Supervisor to campus locations as needed.
• Answer phones and communicate with University Departments.
• Coordinate with Police, EMS, Fire during emergencies.
• Enforce residence hall regulations and Code of Conduct violations.
• Observe and report hazardous conditions to leadership.
• Ensure only authorized persons are admitted on duty.
• Direct visitors and assist as necessary.
• Monitor CCTV, Fire Panel, Card Access systems.
• Create and distribute Student ID cards with access.
• Enforce campus traffic and policy rules.
• Observe weather and report unusual activity.
• Complete investigations of university violations.
• Liaise with local law enforcement and EMS when required.
• May perform incidental custodial/maintenance duties.
